8 JULY 2020 – HIV raises the risk of death from COVID-19 in South Africa’s Western Cape province and around eight percent of deaths from COVID-19 in the province are attributable to HIV, Dr Mary-Ann Davies of the Western Cape Health Department told the 23rd International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2020: Virtual) today.
